I’m really excited to be reviewing the latest UPPAbaby VISTA V2!
For those who are unfamiliar with the Vista, it is a convertible stroller which can be used as a single stroller or converted to a double stroller by adding another seat to accommodate a second child.
It is ideal if you are looking for a stroller that can grow with your family.
UPPAbaby Vista stroller is well-loved by many parents and have been among the bestselling strollers. In 2020, the UPPAbaby Vista was given an upgrade, facelift and name change.
The updated UPPAbaby Vista V2 now offers new colors, and features that I’m sure you will enjoy.
As new parents wanting the best for our child, it is unavoidable that we are ALWAYS trying to compare between the different strollers. Honestly, this can be a dizzying and stressful tasks, even for seasoned moms.
To help you find the stroller that best suits your needs, I’ve also compared the Vista V2 against many other popular strollers in this article.
UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs UPPAbaby Vista – What has changed?
No-Rethread Harness
No more hassle when adjusting the height of the harness to accommodate your growing child! All you need to do is to slide the harness up and down.
Roomier Toddler Seat
The VISTA 2019’s toddler seat is roomier compared to many of its peers. And in this latest version, Uppababy has gone a step further to increase the main stroller seat dimension to accommodate and make it more comfortable for our taller and bigger kiddos.
This is good news as it can extend the usability and lifespan of the Vista V2 stroller, given how expensive the UPPAbaby strollers are.
The weight limit of Vista V2’s toddler seat remains the same at 50 Ib. However, the height of the seat back is higher and footrest is deeper.
There is no change to the Rumble Seat’s dimension and weight capacity limit of 35 Ibs.
Height of Seat Back: 20” (vs Vista: 19”)
Length of Calf Rest: 11” (unchanged)
Depth of Footrest: 2.5” (vs Vista: 2”)
Canopy
Vista V2 canopy looks great and offers UPF 50+ protection!
The Vista V2’s toddler seat and rumble seat canopies have been redesigned to provide better sun coverage and airflow, while giving the stroller a sleeker and more modern look.
There’s a large peek-a-boo mesh window, which you can easily open up by unfolding the flap of fabric.
To extend the canopy for a complete sun coverage, simply zip-out the 3rd panel from the back of the canopy. There’s even a second mesh window on the 3rd panel to improve the air circulation.
The 2019 Vista, on the other hand, only has 1 peek-a-boo mesh window that is held in place by magnetic closure when not in use.
The extended 3 panel canopy has the same color and fabric which looks really good, compared to the 2019 Vista where the canopy features a shiny silver pull-out sun visor.
On the Vista V2, the logo is printed on a small leather tag attached to the edge of canopy, which gives a more subtle yet sophisticated look compared to the large letters printed on the 2019 Vista canopy.
Extra-Large Storage Basket
UPPAbaby Vista V2 has one of the biggest storage basket with a weight capacity of 30 Ibs. You can throw in a large diaper bag just fine.
Two additional pockets are also added to the basket to make it easier for parents to store and retrieve loose items.
The storage basket also looks sleeker now and no longer uses the snaps in 2019 Vista. The rim of the basket has got a springy feel, so you do not really need to worry about things dropping out.
You can easily access the basket from the back and front. But the front access will be more limited when using the Vista V2 as a double stroller.
New Color Options
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 colors and fabrics are simply gorgeous. Along with the facelift, the Vista V2 truly looks like a luxurious stroller.
There are a total of 9 color options to choose from! Each of them comes with a specific frame and leather accent.
The 2020 bassinet now features matching colors and fabrics with the stroller seat.
The UPPAbaby color styles are named after children’s names. So, here’s a cheat sheet to help you visualise the different color and fabric options available for Vista V2:
My personal favorite is probably EMMETT. You can also check out the rest of the color range here.
4 new colors with silver frame:
• Finn – Deep Sea with chestnut leather
• Hazel – Olive Green with saddle leather
• Sierra – Dune Knit with black leather
• Alice – Dusty Pink with saddle leather
5 colors continued from the Vista 2019:
• Bryce – White Marl with silver frame and chestnut leather
• Emmett – Green Melange with silver frame and saddle leather
• Gregory – Blue Melange with silver frame and saddle leather
• Jake – Black with black frame and black leather
• Jordan – Charcoal Melange with silver frame and black leather
3 colors were discontinued – William Oxford Chambray, Henry Blue Marl and Spenser Tartan Plaid.
Wheels and Suspension
The wheels and suspension are also given an upgrade to provide an even smoother push.
The 2019 UPPAbabay Vista does feature an all-wheel suspension. This is further enhanced with new spring-action that can better smoothen the bumps. If you give the VISTA a hard downward push, you will notice how well the stroller absorbs the shock and bounces back.
The wheels are also softer to make it easier to push. These are highly quality polyurethane wheels so you don’t have to worry about punctures.
New visual indicators for the lockable front wheels
The front wheels can be locked for greater stability when pushing through rough or uneven terrains.
Simply press on the button above the front wheels to lock. A new green indicator is added to let you know that the front wheels are locked.
Other Features that We Like About UPPAbaby Vista
Telescoping Handlebar
UPPAbaby Vista V2 offers a telescoping handlebar that allows parents of different heights to adjust the handlebar height for them to push comfortably. Taller parents will appreciate this feature as they will be able to take wider strides without kicking the stroller.
The handle is also covered with a real leather accent that makes it more comfortable to hold onto and push the stroller for a longer time.
Easy to Use Foot Brake
The foot brake is easy to use and flip-flop friendly. Push down the brake pedal to engage and tap again to release.
Super Easy Standing Fold
UPPAbaby Vista fares really well in terms of ease of use compared to its peers, and has a really easy fold mechanism!
First, extend out the handle bar. Pull the triggers on both side of the frame and fold it right down.
The folded stroller stands on its own. I’m a big fan of strollers with a standing fold as it is just so convenient.
You do not have to bend all the way down and you also don’t have to worry about the dirt, mud or snow when you are folding the stroller outdoor.
It has a spring activated automatic lock, which makes it really easy to unfold.
Another convenient feature is that the Vista V2 can be folded with both seats attached. However, the fold will be very bulky.
If you are putting the stroller into the car, you can greatly reduce the stroller folded size and weight by removing the rumble sea before folding… or even both seats. The frame by itself is really light.
The only downside is that the seat MUST be in the forward facing position when you are folding the stroller.
Reversible Seat
Thanks to the reversible seat, your baby have the flexibility of being seated forward-facing or rear-facing.
Older babies will probably enjoy riding in the forward-facing direction as they are curious to take in what is happening around them. Younger babies, on the other hand, may benefit from the parent-facing mode as they may need more attention from mommy.
Switching between the front and rear facing is really easy.
Press the 2 silver buttons at the sides to detach, reverse the seat direction and click it back in place. The seat is lightweight so it doesn’t feel like a hassle.
One-Hand Multi-Position Recline
The UPPAbaby stroller seat offers 6 recline position. The angle of the leg rest also moves in tandem with the seat recline to provide a comfortable position for your baby whether he is napping or sitting upright to see the world.
It is a much-loved one-hand recline mechanism. Simply push the button at the back of the seat to adjust the seat to the desired position.
To use the stroller seats for newborns, you will need to use it with the Infant SnugSeat accessory.
Another option for newborn is to use the Vista V2 as a pram since the bassinet is included.
Adjustable Foot Rest
The angle of the foot rest can also be independently adjusted by pressing down on the 2 grey buttons at both sides of the leg rest.
Height-adjustable Canopy
Vista V2 is well-suited to accommodate a growing toddler. The seat canopy can be adjusted higher up the frame to create more headroom.
This is not a common feature for most strollers and definitely helps taller kids enjoy a more comfortable ride.
Easy to Maintain Seat Fabric
The stroller seat fabric feels like a thick waterproof type of material. It is easy to wipe down but not machine-washable.
Many parents who bought the Bryce (white) stroller have commented that it was surprisingly easy to keep it clean.
If you are concerned, you can purchase the reversible seat liner as an accessory. The fabric is softer and machine-washable.
Removable Bumper Bar
Not all strollers comes with a bumper bar. The UPPAbaby bumper bar is a really nice addition as it gives the baby something to hold or lean onto. You can even use it to hang some of your baby’s favourite toys.
The bumper bar is covered with the same real leather accent as the handlebar, giving the stroller a nice sophisticated look.
5-Point Harness
The harness is easy for the parent to use. But your little one will have difficulty taking the harness off by themselves as the release button in the middle does require a little more force that they can afford.
UPPAbaby Vista Bassinet Included
Like it or not, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is higher priced as it comes with the VISTA bassinet.
Honestly, this is a really beautiful bassinet. I have more reasons to love it than to complain about it being bundled together with the Vista V2.
The bassinet is suitable from birth up to 20 Ibs or until infants can push up on their hands and knees, whichever first. As the neck muscle and spine of the baby is not fully developed, it is really nice to have this option to allow the baby to lie flat in the stroller for the first few months.
In fact, you can use the stroller bassinet right from the start to bring your newborn home from the hospital!
What I like about the UPPAbaby Bassinet
Canopy
The bassinet has its own canopy with UPF 50+ protection. For increased sun coverage outdoors, you can zip-out an extendable sun visor. Mesh panels at the sides of the sun visor helps to increase the ventilation.
You can also unzip the back of the canopy and fold up the fabric flap to reveal the large mesh panels for additional airflow to keep the baby cool and comfortable.
Added Breathability
For increased ventilation, the mattress pad of the bassinet is perforated and the base is vented. You can flap open a piece of fabric at the base of the bassinet to unveil a mesh panel.
Comfortable Sleeping Surface
The inner lining of the bassinet is water-repellent so it will repel spit-ups and liquids to ensure a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.
As babies will unavoidably create messes, you can also purchase extra bassinet mattress cover so that you have something on hand while you throw the cover into the machine for washing. There are two types of material for the bassinet mattress covers – White Cotton-Blend and Heather Grey Cozy-Knit material.
Suitable for Overnight Sleeping
With the bassinet, it becomes really convenient if your baby fell asleep while you were out for walks. Upon reaching home, you can easily detach the bassinet from the stroller with a push of a button at the top of the bassinet canopy. No more worrying about waking up your little one.
You can either place it on the floor, or elevate it by securing it on the UPPAbaby bassinet stand (sold separately).
What’s really great about the UPPAbaby Vista bassinet is that it is not only suitable for naps, it can be used for overnight sleeping. So you won’t need to spend on another bassinet.
If you do intend to use the UPPAbaby bassinet as an overnight sleeping solution at home, I would strongly encourage you to purchase the bassinet stand. The stand comes in 3 colors – white, espresso and grey. Along with the gorgeous bassinet fabric colors, the Vista V2 bassinet will be a beautiful addition to any room.
The bassinet snaps into the adaptors on the stand, just like the stroller, so it is really secured. To remove the bassinet, it’s again the simple one button release on the top of the bassinet canopy.
There’s also a tray at the bottom of the stand so you can keep items such as diapers or toys handy.
When your baby has outgrown the bassinet, the UPPAbaby bassinet stand can be convert to a laundry hamper in the nursery.
The UPPAbaby bassinet is a great travel bassinet. It is compact and lightweight, so you can easily bring it along when you are travelling with your baby.
You will enjoy a peace of mind knowing that your little one has a safe and comfortable sleeping environment even while you are away from home.
The bassinet and stand combination is also a very convenient option if you are on a road trip or staying over at grandma’s place. The stand is very portable as it is light and folds compactly.
If you are already using the bassinet with your Vista V2 stroller, simply bring along the bassinet stand.
Fully Opened (L x W x H): 30.5” x 20” x 29”
Folded (L x W x H): 30.5”x 5” x 29”
Bottom Tray (L x W): 27” x 15″
Uppababy Travel System
The UPPAbaby VISTA V2 can be converted to a travel system by attaching an infant car seat.
On a single VISTA V2, the UPPAbaby MESA infant car seat is the ONLY car seat that attaches directly to the frame without the need for additional car seat adaptors. It is also super easy to remove the MESA car seat from the stroller, with just a press of a button on the top of the car seat handle.
However, you are not restricted to just the MESA car seat. This is a great news for parents who may have received infant car seats from friends or relatives as gifts or hand-me-downs.
With the purchase of right uppababy vista car seat adapters, you can also use car seats from top manufacturers including Nuna, Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Peg-Perego and Chicco on the VISTA V2 stroller.
The UPPAbaby VISTA V2 is compatible with the following infant car seats:
- UPPAbaby MESA (no adapters required)
- Chicco KeyFit, KeyFit30 and Fit2 (You can easily find the uppababy car seat adapters for Chicco on Amazon)
- Clek Liing
- Cybex Aton and Cloud Q series
- Maxi-Cosi Mico Max 30, Mico AP, Mico NXT, Mico, Citi, Cabrio and CabrioFix
- Nuna PIPA, PIPA Lite and PIPA Lite LX (with ring adapter by Nuna or uppababy car seat adapters)
- Peg-Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35 and 4-35 Nido
Uppababy VISTA Configurations
As a single stroller or pram, the VISTA V2 can be used with:
- the toddler seat facing forward or backward
- a compatible car seat
- or the bassinet
To convert the UPPAbaby VISTA V2 into a double stroller, you’ll need to purchase the upper adaptor, the smaller Rumble seat (which comes with the lower adaptor).
The upper adaptor is used to elevate the main toddler seat to give the kids more space. The smaller rumble seat is attached to the bottom using the lower adaptor.
The main toddler seat has a heavier weight limit capacity of 50 Ibs, while the lower rumble seat is smaller with a weight capacity of 35 Ibs.
Hence, the UPPAbaby VISTA V2 is not ideal as a double stroller for twins. It is more suited for a growing family with kids 1-2 years apart.
Both the toddler seat and rumble seats share other similar features, such as:
- Multi-recline positions
- Removable bumper bar
- Extendable UPF 50+ sun shade
If you have a 3rd child, you can also purchase the UPPAbaby Piggyback Ride-Along board
UPPAbaby Cruz vs Vista
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 and UPPAbaby Cruz V2 looks almost identical!
Just like Vista, Cruz was also given an update in 2020 and given a name change to CRUZ V2.
If you are wondering what’s the difference between the uppababy cruz vs vista, and which is the best stroller for your family, you are not alone in asking these questions.
The choice would really depend on your family’s lifestyle.
If you are looking for a stroller that can grow with your family, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 would be the right one for you. It is a convertible stroller that can be converted from single to double stroller.
Cruz V2, on the other hand, is a single stroller.
Along with the ability to accommodate a second child, Vista is bigger and heavier. CRUZ is more lightweight, narrower and lower priced. Vista V2 is 27 Ibs compared to Cruz’s 25.5 Ibs.
If you are looking to just ferry a single child, Cruz V2 would be the one for you as there’s really no need for you to be lugging the extra stroller weight.
UPPAbaby vs Bugaboo
Another common comparison is the UPPAbaby Vista v2 vs Bugaboo Donkey3.
Both models are convertible strollers which are recently given an upgrade in 2020. Both strollers also come with a bassinet.
The BIGGEST DIFFERENCE that sets them apart is that UPPAbaby Vista converts into a tandem double stroller, while the Bugaboo Donkey converts into a side-by-side double stroller.
